9/14/2012 - BAGRAM AIRFIELD, AFGHANISTAN -- Members of the 455th Air Expeditionary Wing Honor Guard spent their September 11, 2012, flying American flags for anyone who wanted one flown over Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan. By the end of the day, the Honor Guard team had flown more than 100 flags.

MSgt Troy Bizzack, assigned to 455th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron and Honor Guard team leader, spearheaded the organization and scheduling of the effort.

Using both available wing flag poles, the Honor Guard members performed full flag ceremonies for each flag. The Honor Guard team performed this service to help Airmen deployed to Afghanistan honor the 11th anniversary of the "9/11" terrorist attacks. 2012 was only the second year in which September 11 fell on Tuesday, the same as 2001.
