SrA Lerma Orara recognized 28 Feb 2012
SrA Orara is a self-motivated and responsible young SrA. Upon her arrival, she took the initiative to clean, reorganize, and revamp the PT/Ortho supply closet (approx $200,000 inventory). She also ordered high demand/low density items ahead of any requests. As well, she took control of PT patient processing (appointments, check-ins, treatments) and allowed the sole PT provider to see as many as 300+ encounters a month. She also took command of the Safety Program for the section and has garnered "No Safety Incidents" for the past 3 months. A true proponent of "Fit to Fight" AFI, SrA Orara volunteers and teaches several fitness classes to BAF personnel and has taken on personal goals for AF Fitness (she has run a Half Marathon, a 20 miler, and is currently training to run the BAF Marathon next month).

SrA Nicholas Gooden 455 ELRS/VM recognized 28 Feb 2012
As you know, I don't have anyone who works for or with me but I was impressed with the SrA I met while volunteering at the Tops in Blue show.
-Sharp rising Airman, made SrA BTZ, will sew on SSgt this year, received his Bachelors degree and on his way to an assignment to be an MTI; and he has just celebrated his 4th year on active duty. He has volunteered countless hours with Tops in Blue, instructing the spin class, VP of Airman Mentoring counsel for LRS, USO and 5/6 all in the one month that he has been here. He is instrumental in the repairing and restoring of ambulances to 100% capability; which is vital to the mission here in the AOR. His supervisor lauds that he "is the bright star of the shop. His positive attitude always brightens up my day." He actually calls him his "little ray of sunshine!"

SSgt DeJaye Herrera 455 EMDSS/SGSN recognized 13 March 2012
SSgt DeJaye Herrera was a committee member in setting up the Cunningham Remembrance Ruck March & Ceremony. Each and every time I worked and met with her, she was the epitome of professionalism. She was always motivated and enthusiastic about the challenge of gaining enough volunteers for the days' events. And her work paid off in gathering a whopping 84 volunteers to help out with the events. The event was a huge success and she single-handedly had a huge part in making it happen by gathering that many volunteers, because had it not been for the large number of helpers, the event would not have gone forward.

TSgt Norma A. Ruiz recognized 13 March 2012
455th ECS, NCO in charge of Requirements in the Plans & Programs office
During TSgt Ruiz's deployment she has been one the hardest workers in our squadron. Her can do attitude, professionalism day in day out are a credit to her. Any time you need anything done, she is the first to step up and I never have to question the work that she does. She works well with everyone in the squadron and is praised by leadership. She supported the Riot Control duties by volunteering to work the fire hose. In addition, she was a Project Manager in charge of some major projects in the Wing including the installation of TASS cameras and the new Patriot Café located in the Old Pax Terminal. As a UTR, she has been in charge of moving 103 personnel to and from their home station. This included four last minute shortfalls with two replacements. TSgt Ruiz also works every Sunday at both USO's at BAF and has put in nearly fifty hours of volunteer service.
She is a credit to the Air Force in everything that she does.

A1C Timothy Carr 455 EMXS/MXMW recognized 13 March 2012
A1C Carr volunteers all his free time at the Airman Ministry Center. He routinely takes care of trash, mops floors, and sorts care packages. One of his biggest contributions is the Grab n Go bin system he made for the center. He used scraps from his work-center to construct several bins for easy to grab supplies, such as toiletries. They look amazing and are a great addition to the ministry the center provides already. He participates in the morale events the center offers as well. He has certainly made a positive impact in his time here, on both the center and the Airmen who visit it.
